These works draw from the principles of asih, asah, asuh—to care, to refine, and to guide. I recognize these values in the relationship between hand and material, and also in my experience teaching art.

My practice centers on repetition: weaving, stitching, layering, and returning. These repeated gestures become a form of attention. Each return to the material is a conversation—about patience, about listening, about allowing things to unfold. In this process, I do not only shape the material; I am shaped by it.

In my experience teaching, I see learning as reciprocal. I guide my students, yet I also learn from them—about the courage to explore, about the beauty of imperfection, about how growth takes time. 

Here, I understand that this experience is a gift that can later be applied to other future experiences. Like bricks that can be shaped into different shapes.

These works become an offering of closeness: between body, time, and material. A space where care takes form, practice becomes refinement, and guidance becomes a gentle act of nurturing.
