Entwined: An Updated Story is a series of painted and woven works that revolve around the transition of the self. It is a re-adaptation of a body of work titled Close, which she created alongside photographers Sally Ann and Emily May as well as writer Mahadi Asman in 2013. This collaborative project told the story of an individual who ‘closes’ the door on others in order to become ‘closer’ to herself.

Sarita undertakes a symbolic process of reflection by weaving fresh narratives over the paintings and illustrations in Close. Showcasing a significant shift in her practice towards weaving, Entwined directs 

viewers to focus on the exigencies of self-transformation and how isolation during the pandemic has motivated people to look within.
